Authentic Afghan food for a very pleasant & relaxed dining experience. Always good friendly service. A good place to meet, talk and eat, especially in the afternoons, when it's quiet. Much quieter than the Barista cafe-restaurant across the road because the acoustics are better at the Afghan Darbar. A special asset to Palmerston North, deserving of your support.

Very inconsistent when it comes to food you recieve. One day it can be subpar and dry but order the next day its amazing. Usually order through ubereats, as we tried to go in and order and they angrily told us they weren't open with no other explanation even though they open at 2pm and it was after 3.30pm.

Very inconsistent, the same food could be great one night and subpar the next. Also, the waiter generally mixes up orders, so always check what they have taken down as management isn't what you expect when you raise the issue with them.

Wonderful food !! We ordered Bolani in appetizers, chicken kebab that came with rice and salad, falooda.Falooda is a must try!! Bolani was also simple yet flavourful. Overall awsome. Best if you are looking for a different cuisine to try and enjoy.

The food is really great! Make sure you try the Kobedah Kebab and Afghan Palau. Vegetarian wise go for Banjan Boranee (Eggplant) with unleavened bread.

We had the Mantoo, kabuli, bolani, and all were delicious. I never tried mantoo (dumplings) when i was in the country however Im glad we brought them. Vanissa DaisyThe meat is dry and barely seasoned. Little flavour. The salad had no dressing and was literally just coleslaw and beetroot. They filled the majority of it up with rice. The prices are far too high for what you get. Would not recommend at all.

Absolutely fantastic food. I’ve eaten here 3 times and tried chicken, lamb and eggplant and all are so full of flavour. The service is super fast and the prices are really affordable, plus you can bring your own beer and wine saving heaps. Give it a go and support a small local restaurant.

The quality is not always the same! Last try was very disappointing. Its like they didnt know their own menu or the owner is keep changing as well as the menu. I waited for nearly 1hour!!!! to get my take away! My baby fell to sleep while waiting and we realised they made a mistake when we got home! 1 portion of rice instead of two! Had to go back there to get the other portion. Would not try it again! Not recommended at all

Last time when We had food it was great, we ordered pizza today, it was really bad. Uncooked, too much cheese concentrated on one side and other left without it. Cheese was uncooked. I am sure it might have been just one off. Bolani was very nice though.
